Gather Together Around the Cross

….until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13 Common English Bible).
We Christians need to stop letting our spiritual strength be siphoned off by bickering among ourselves over doctrinal minutia when the world so desperately needs to hear the gospel in a way that is understandable to everyone.
Throughout history the body of Christ has been so much of the time deeply divided over secondary issues instead of centering upon the good news of redemption from this nightmare of sin. Oftentimes Christians have waged terrible warfare against their fellow Christians who have differing beliefs. I could cite many instances of this but the history is available to all who wish to seek it out.
We need to be using the spiritual weapons that have been provided to oppose the world, the flesh, and the devil and not be fighting with one another. Is it not high time that we put away childish things and lift Jesus higher than ever before? Evil forces of every kind are increasingly waging warfare against the Bible, the gospel, and Christian believers around the world and it is affecting all of us. The suffering that people are going through at this moment for merely being Christians is simply unbelievable.
We need to draw together in unity around the cross of Christ, love one another more than ever before, and be ready always to give an answer to all who inquire about the hope that is within us. Let us surrender our self-centered ways of thinking and living at the foot of the cross and enter into the fullness of knowing the love of God.
