God’s Purpose for You

Oct 3, 2015 1298

“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28).

The first part of this promise gives us confidence that no matter what the day has in store for us, God is guiding our lives. This can provide a sense of calm and optimism, even in difficult circumstances.

And what about God’s purpose for you? What is it? According to Romans 8:29 it is his purpose that you “be conformed to the likeness of his Son.”

Adam was made in the likeness of his Creator (Gen. 5:1) and now the Lord wants to make you in the likeness of your Redeemer. Can you imagine what a great privilege this is; to be like Adam before he turned his back on God; to be like Jesus?

God doesn’t expect the impossible from you. What the Lord desires for you he, himself, will make possible.
