Jonathan Accepts the Great Invitation – Musanze, Rwanda

“The Gospel converted me.”
Jonathan is a 3rd year University student who has been touched by the message preached during GNU Gospel meetings in Musanze, Rwanda. These meetings were called “The Great Invitation” and were based on Matthew 11:28, where Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jonathon was riding a motorbike along the road when he heard the meetings being held in a local church. Out of curiosity, he decided to join the multitude that was standing by the side of the road. After listening for a while, he moved closer and sat on a seat reserved for visitors. He listened to the full sermon entitled “Jesus Only” and never missed a meeting after that day.
He never missed a meeting after that day.
Pr Bonifresh Muhollo, GNU’s East African Evangelism Coordinator, was the main speaker at the meetings. There were four meetings held over a period of four weeks, each taking place at one of the local churches in Musanze that are partners of GNU.
On the final day of the meetings Jonathon was one of the fifteen people who were baptised. When he was asked why he made that decision, his answer was simple,
The Gospel converted me.
