The Golden Rule
Remember the Golden Rule that Jesus taught:
“Do to others what you would want others to do to you”?
When I was in business, I had a manager once who taught me the world’s version of the “Golden Rule.” Here it is:
“He who has the gold makes the rules.”
Too often that’s the principle that dominates our society and our relationships.
You know, the idea that the person with the most, wins? Because when you have the money, then you can control what happens, and you can control the people around you.
Jesus taught another way. He said that the one who wins is the one who loves; the one who wins is the one shares, the one who wins is the one who gives. Because then there’ll be enough for all. When you treat others the way you’d like to be treated, like the saying goes, “what goes around, comes around.” Jesus was right. Think about it.
Jesus said that the one who wins is the one who loves.
