Unlimited: Never Be Put to Shame

and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.” (Romans 9:33b).
Shame is one of the worst of human emotions. Shame goes beyond guilt. Guilt tells you that what you did was rubbish. Shame tells you that you are rubbish.
Yet through the Bible, God promises you that if you believe in Jesus, you will never be put to shame: not for your past, not for your present, and not for your future. The Lord said, through the prophet Isaiah:
Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.You will forget the shame of your youth… (Isa 54:4).
God promises you that if you believe in Jesus, you will never be put to shame.
Shame was the first emotion that Adam and Eve are recorded to have felt after their first sin.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves (Gen. 3:7.)
While they hid from God, he went looking for them, and gave them the promise of one who would come and deliver them from sin and its shame forever (Gen. 3:9,15.)
The reason why you will never be put to shame if you believe in Jesus is because he bore your shame at Calvary. Indeed, the shame he bore was far greater than any that you will ever face.
Spiritual Application
Is there something in your life of which you are ashamed and that you know you haven’t dealt with? It could be time to confront it. Pray for wisdom for what to do.
