Excerpt:There are precipices, mine-fields, and pitfalls in every Christian’s Pilgrim’s Progress. One of the most common is a mistake I find myself prone to make repeatedly. It is the mistake of looking to oneself for that which is only to be found in Christ; for instance, for strength, wisdom, courage, and righteousness. We are unceasingly reluctant to believe the axiomatic truth of Christian experience that “without Christ we can do nothing.”
